Standard wheelchairs no wider than 26" from wheel to wheel
may be accommodated in dry conditions only.   It is highly
recommended that a person strong enough to safely move
an occupied wheelchair up and down long, steep inclines
and narrow ramps accompany the visitor.

We regret the site cannot safely accommodate
motorized chairs or scooters.  Persons using walkers should
be aware that there are several sets of stairs on the tour
route.  Walker legs with all wheels work best on the rugged
tour pathways.
UPDATES/ANNOUNCEMENTS:  
The Underground Gardens are now closed for the
season.  We thank all our 2011 visitors for allowing us
to share this wonderful accomplishment with them
and hope their visit here was memorable.
The site will re-open in March 2012 starting on
weekends as the weather permits.

No debit at this time

This means the grounds must be dry enough to walk on
and no substantial rain is hitting the area.   Tours could
be canceled & schedules changed w/o notice, which
may happen after an overnight rain storm.

Should you arrive for a tour and find the place closed
due to wet conditions, we apologize for the
inconvenience, but that is the nature of this site.

HEAT
Fresno summer temperatures can often reach over 100
degrees.  Please note there is no mechanical air
conditioning underground - only the natural cooling of
the underground design.  Temperatures underground
vary about 10 to 25 degrees cooler than above ground,
which could still be uncomfortable for heat-sensitive
persons or persons with medical conditions.  
Please know your limits.  
Chilled bottled water is for sale downstairs.
